Dear Parents and Guardians,Welcome to Columbia Elementary School located in Falcon Courts North on McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. Columbia School is part of the North Hanover School District, and one of five schools serving the students in grades K4 through 6th grade. Columbia fulfills the educational needs of the 3rd and 4th grade students from the base housing area.
Columbia School is divided into a 3 rd grade wing and a 4 th grade wing. Our students receive instruction in mathematics, reading, language arts, phonics, spelling, science, and social studies. The children receive "specials" once a week in the areas of physical education, computers, art, library and music. The children also receive the foreign language Spanish twice a week.
The curriculum at Columbia School is designed to meet the educational goals established by the District, the teaching staff and the parents in accordance with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Specific focus is placed on Reading, Mathematics and the Language Arts content areas.
